How It Works

Really Experiencing Agile Working

In the simulation you experience Scrum not as theory but right in the middle of real project life: with a product backlog, user stories, sprint planning, daily standups, reviews and retrospectives. And yes – usually with exactly the dynamics that agile teams experience day to day.

Teams work through several sprints on a real product. Requirements change, priorities shift, stakeholders suddenly have new ideas – and of course time stays tight regardless. This makes it tangible why Scrum came about – and why agile collaboration is sometimes inspiring and sometimes challenging.

In sprint planning, work is prioritized and estimated. In the daily, it becomes visible who is working on what – or where someone is stuck. In the reviews, results are delivered. And in the retrospectives you quickly notice: continuous improvement sounds easier than it sometimes feels within a team.

The simulation shows not only the methods, but above all the spirit behind Scrum: transparency, responsibility, feedback, self-organization and the willingness to keep adapting. At the same time, it also becomes clear that agility is no miracle cure – and that not every team automatically becomes "scrum-ready".

That is exactly why the workshop generates many valuable insights for everyday work. Many teams later adopt elements such as daily standups, backlogs, retrospectives or Kanban boards to make their collaboration more effective and transparent.

In short: the simulation takes you right into the world of Scrum – with pace, discussions, user stories, sprint stress, aha moments and a whole lot of fun.

Build. Inspect. Adapt.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

The simulation is suitable for teams, leaders and organizations that want to try out new forms of collaboration and make their everyday work more agile. It is particularly interesting for companies with traditional or hierarchical structures that want to think outside the box and gain new perspectives on teamwork, communication and collaboration. Public sector organizations also use the simulation to make modern ways of working tangible and to explore together how more transparency, ownership and momentum can emerge in a team. In short: for anyone who wants to rethink collaboration – regardless of industry or organizational structure.

The Scrum Master simulation is designed for one day. Within this timeframe, teams go through multiple complete sprint cycles.

No. The simulation is designed so that participants without agile experience can also get started. Scrum roles and ceremonies are introduced and deepened during the course of the game.

The Scrum Master simulation can be conducted in German or English.

Partly. Of course, examples and conditions can be adapted to your organization. But the more interesting question is often: how ready is your organization to truly embrace agile collaboration? Because Scrum doesn't just mean new terms like sprint or backlog – it often also means more transparency, more ownership and less "we've always done it this way". In short: it's not only the simulation that moves. Usually the organization does too.
